Assem Marei's triple-double lands him Player of the Week award

Experienced Egyptian Assem Marei (206-C-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Changwon LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 36.
The 33-year old center recorded a triple-double of 18 points adding also 19 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team was edged out by Daegu (#9, 12-28) 72-71. Despite this loss Sakers managed to keep South Korean KBL leading position. They afford to lose this game, but they have to be very careful to avoid similar "accidents". LG Sakers has a very solid 29-12 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Marei turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Minnesota State University Mankato graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marei leads league in rebounds with 14.4rpg. Marei is in league's top in assists (5th best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 2.1spg and 52.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Canadian power forward Andrew Nicholson (206-PF-1989) of Seoul Samsung Thunders. Nicholson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Samsung Thunders was edged by the higher-ranked Suwon KT (#6, 20-21) 104-101. Seoul Thunders are still at the very bottom. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-28 record. Nicholson is a newcomer at Seoul Thunders and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.5ppg (#6). He also registered 6.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Filipino Arvin Tolentino (195-F-1995) of Seoul SK Knights (#3). Tolentino scored 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Knights, leading his team to a 81-64 easy win against the lower-ranked Sono SG (#7, 18-23). Seoul Knights needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 25 victories and 15 lost games. Tolentino has a very solid season. In 39 games in South Korea he scored 11.4ppg. He also has a FGP of 56.0% and 3PT: 41.9%.
